Wikefield Farm is a working farm incorporating a livery yard. Situated north of Leeds, it is surrounded by superb hacking country. For many years, horses and agriculture have been successfully combined as part of the business. The proprietors live on the premises ensuring 24 hour supervision and security precautions are in place.
We use the services of visiting professionals, including a specialist equine veterinary practice, farrier (weekly visits) and equine physiotherapist. Grazing is rotated in fields around the farm, and divided for mares and geldings. A controlled worming programme for all horses is in place. The yard closes at 6pm Saturday and Sunday (Unless returning from a competition). Monday - Friday 9pm closing.
As a guide, winter fees for horses are approximately £52 per week (inclusive of hay, straw and feed). Shavings can be used at a cost of £5.25 per bale. Additional part livery charges per day (arranged to suit individual requirements) are: turnout £1.50, bring in £1.50, muck out £2.00. Grazing only is £37 per week.If you would like to know more or to discuss your individual requirements, please contact us by phone (0113 288 6315).
